Procedure for Admission 2012-13:

A.

Candidates applying for admission will be required to fill up and submit the Admission Form (attached with the Prospectus) alongwith following original certificates and self-attested copies there of.

(i)

Original certificate of last qualifying examination issued by the Board or the University And/Or
Provisional School/College Leaving Certificate in case original has not been issued

(ii)

Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination passed.

(iii)

Original Certificate of Secondary/Matric as proof of Date of Birth.

(iv)

Character Certificate from the School/College last attended.

(v)

Two recent Passport size photographs.

(Vi)

Admission slip issued by the University (in case of reserved and physically handicapped categories only)

(Vii)

Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC Candidates).

(Viii)

Disability certificate(for physically challenged candidates)

(ix)

Migration Certificate, wherever necessary.

(x)

Rank certificate issued by Delhi University for admission to PGDCA.

Selected candidates are required to deposit all fees by due date after the notification of their selection. Fees are payable at the Bank in the College by 1.00 p.m.

All admissions are provisional and subject to the approval of the University on submission of the University Enrolment Form. This Form must be filled up and submitted alongwith the
Admission Form. The College reserves the right to reduce cut off percentages for girl students in any course.

Any candidate seeking registration/admission on false attestation /forged certificate in respect of age, caste, subject and/or percentage of marks etc. will be debarred from attending any course in the university or its colleges for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz 470, 471, 474 etc.) will be instituted against him/her to subject him/her to requisite criminal proceeding.

Compulsory Test in Hindi

Candidates who did not study a Modern Indian Language for the Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or at the Matriculation examination of an Indian University/Board or an examination conducted by some public body in India and recognized as equivalent to either of the aforesaid examinations shall be permitted to chose Political Science, in lieu of a Modern Indian Language. Such students will be required to take and pass compulsory test in Hindi conducted by the University of Delhi. Foreign students are exempted from the above test. Students who are required to take the above test should contact the College Office immediately after the commencement of classes so that special classes can be arranged for them, if necessary.

Reservation of Seats :

1.

Scheduled Caste/Tribe Candidates

(ii)

As per university rules 22.5% of the total number of seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes (15% for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes interchangeable, if necessary)

2.

Other Backward Class (OBC) Candidates

 

As per the decision of Central Government, the OBC reservation will be affected after increasing the total number of seats by 54%. The OBC status is to be determined on the basis of the Central List of OBC's notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on the recommendations of the National Commission for Backward Classes available at the web site of the Commission (http://ncbc.nin.in/backward classes/index.html).

Children / Widows/ Wives of Armed Forces Personnel

 

As per university rule 5% of total number of seats in each of the courses have been reserved for the children/ Widows/ Wives of the Officers and Men of the Armed Forces including Paramilitary personnel killed/disabled in action or those who died or disabled on duty.

Physically Challenged Candidates

 

3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged candidates for admission to under graduate courses.

 

Candidates belonging to category 1, 3 and 4 should register themselves with the University of Delhi and will be admitted in college on production of provisional admission slip issued by University of Delhi.

Admission on the basis of Sports

(i)

As per University rules, not more than 5% of the total number of seats, separately both in honours and Pass courses (1st year only), will be offered for admission on the basis of sports and co-curricular distinctions.

(ii)

The admission on the basis of excellence in sports as well as extracurricular activities will be finalized by the college on the recommendation of separate committees set up for the purpose. The committees shall screen/evaluate the application, hold interviews and trials and recommend admission. The level of competency in sports will be determined only of the candidate who have achieved distinctions in sports during the last three years. The details of preference for admission on basis of sports, in the college is notified in the preliminary application form.

Extra Curricular Activities (ECA Admissions)

We have consciously provided for privileged admissions under Extra Curricular Activities with a view to enriching life at college through performing and fine arts. We look forward to admitting eager contributors to DDUC-SPIC MACAY chapter, DDUC Band 'PLUNO', DDUC-Choir 'AAwahan', DDUC-Dramatics Club and DDUC-Debating Society. We also welcome those with proven competencies and potential in art and craft. What we offer is not just admission on a privileged basis, but the opportunity to explore, expand and evolve. Those who feel inspired enough to join us are advised to watch out for our notices on ECA Trials right from the display of the first admission list.


Note:

Candidates seeking admission on the basis of sports and extra-curricular activities should apply through an application form available from the college office giving details of the activities at the school level along with the photocopies of the relevant certificates and testimonials. A photograph of the student should accompany the Sports/ECA certificate and both should be duly verified by the issuing authority and the Head of the Institution last attended.
